I’m Joe Rivera, a U.S. Veteran running for Hudson School Board
My name is Joseph Rivera, and I am honored to run for a position on the Hudson School Board. I retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, where I dedicated my career to leadership, problem-solving, and serving our country.
Now, as a father of two young children in the district, I am looking to serve in a different capacity. I am deeply invested in ensuring that every student in Hudson has access to a safe, high-quality education. I believe in fostering a school system that focuses on academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the safety of our students.
Together, we can create an environment where our children thrive and our community continues to succeed. With strong schools, we will create a stronger Hudson!

Why I’m Running For Hudson School Board
1. Education first. Education should focus on academic excellence and skills that prepare students for life. I will advocate for a curriculum rooted in fundamental subjects like math, science, reading, and history, ensuring lessons are factual, balanced, and age-appropriate. Teachers, administrators and parents should prioritize learning over activism, creating an environment where every child and parent feels respected regardless of personal beliefs.
2. Safe schools. The safety of our children should be everyone’s priority, and is a foundational need for effective education. Students cannot learn and thrive in an environment where they feel unsafe, which is why I will advocate for a comprehensive approach to school safety. By proactively addressing safety concerns, we create a secure environment where students feel supported and can focus on learning. Parents can send their children to school with confidence, knowing that safety is not just a priority but a shared responsibility.
3. Fiscal responsibility. As we address budget shortfalls, schools should use taxpayer dollars wisely to benefit students and improve educational outcomes. This means evaluating current spending to cut wasteful expenditures, redirecting funds to support teachers, classrooms, and essential programs. I’ll push for greater transparency in the budget process and involve the community in discussions about priorities, ensuring every dollar works toward building a better future for our students.
